'˜Treehouse' takes Woodburn Forest campaign to new heights
The viewing platform appeared in the woods in recent weeks as InfraStrata’s exploratory drilling operation continues.
Located directly beside the wellpad’s boundary wall, the platform was constructed by a local resident, who did not wish to be named.

Referring to the Belfast Water Act 1899, he added: “People were evicted from this forest over 100 years ago because they weren’t even allowed to build a house in the water catchment, and now all of a sudden this is happening.
“We built [the platform] because we thought we needed a way to see into the site and keep an eye on what’s going on.
“It’s a 24-hour thing between me and a few mates; day or night there’ll always be somebody up here.”
Meanwhile, fellow protestors are maintaining a presence next to the forest’s Paisley Road entrance.
