Stanley delighted with his MBE
He was appointed to the post four years ago following the school being classified as unsatisfactory in an Inspection Report.
Since that time the school has improved considerably to the extent that it was classifies as satisfactory in the latest inspection report.

Hide AdMr. Smith who lives in Bangor has been involved with a number of other schools and was formerly Chair of Governors at Bangor Grammar School.
He is a long standing member of the Council for Catholic maintained Schools
(CCMS).Commenting on the award he said –“I was surprised but delighted. I am particularly pleased that it is in many ways recognition of the hard work and dedication of all the staff at the school, and I am greatly indebted to them all”.
The award represents a remarkable double for the Smith Family. Stanley’s wife Marion, who is a well known UUP Councillor on North Down Borough Council received a similar award form services to Local Government two years ago.
