Police arrest ‘sword’ man (35) at ecos
A 35-year-old man was arrested by police at ecos on Saturday afternoon on suspicion of possessing both an offensive weapon and drugs in a public place.
Officers went to the premises at Broughshane Road after receiving a report of a man, armed with a knife, at a visitor centre.
Members of the public who contacted The Times about the incident stated that a man armed with a samurai sword-like knife was seen walking around ecos threatening to kill the dog he had with him if someone did not take it.
A police spokesperson said yesterday (Monday) that no one was injured in the incident and that the 35-year-old man was later released on police bail pending further enquiries.
