The Pet Hero competition was launched to give owners a chance to shine the spotlight on their heroic pets. The winner was selected at the end of September based on the most Facebook likes they received.

The runners up will receive a £50 Pets at Home hamper, whilst Nelson will receive a £100 hamper and could become the face of a Vets4Pets marketing campaign in Northern Ireland.

“After rehabilitation she settled into family life and proved to be a true Pet Hero when she woke the family after a fire started during a family holiday. We’re really proud of her.”
