Horse dies after being struck by car on road
A HORSE was killed on the A8 near Bruslee on Wednesday night (January 13) when it was struck by a car, police have confirmed.
Officers were called to the scene at around 7.30pm after a motorist reported seeing a number of horses running up the Hillhead Road towards the main Belfast - Larne road.
A PSNI spokesman confirmed that a vet was called to the scene of the accident, but said that the horse was dead on his arrival.
It is understood that a passenger travelling in the car which struck the horse sustained minor injuries.
