Fate of Iron Bridge may be decided today
Derry City Council this morning asked the court to declare the Green Road leading from the Glenshane Road to the bridge over the Faughan and on to Ardmore a public right of way.
Last December the court found that a public right of way asserted by the local authority traversed land in the ownership of two private individuals.

Hide AdPart of the December order said the boundary between two landowners' properties was in the middle of the river and that the bridge was crossing onto a person's private land.
Today Derry City Council having already asserted a public right of way at Green Road, Ardmore and Lismacarol, will ask for it to be asserted a public right of way.
The Sentinel understands one of these landowners has no issue with the assertion of the public right of way but the other landowner has objected.
The application for the court to declare that the right of way, as asserted, is a public right of way, is being heard at Bishop Street.
