Dungannon man hopes to take party world by storm with innovative ‘Baravan’
Consultant Engineer Mark Mooney said he and some friends came up with idea while spending time at his family’s caravan in Mullaghmore.
Since buying a second hand five berth Lunar van from an elderly man in Tyrone, he said has been hard at work designing and fitting out the challenging but exciting restoration.

And the resulting, moveable party venue with its very own sound system, full working bar and heating is ready for action.
“You just hook it on to the back of a vehicle and take it to where the party is,” Mark explained.
Asked how the idea came about, he added: “Me and my friends came down to my mobile home in Mullaghmore, County Sligo, and one of the guys is a bar man and we had a keg.

“I did the design and a lot of the work myself and then I got help from a tradesman and a few friends. It was such a precise job that I needed some help.”
Harking back to pubs of old, Mark said he has tried to stay true to Irish culture with the innovative project.
“The theme of it is old Ireland so it’s all done up traditional way with the stove and the turf by the fire and net curtains.

Now on the road, Mark said he has been inundated with requests to hire the bar for parties, weddings and events all across Ireland.
