'Driving standards must improve'
The matter has been highlighted following concerns from local residents that some motorists have been cutting corners, ignoring give-way signs at junctions, and driving at speeds that could be deemed to be unsafe for residential areas.
Police warn that they will not hesitate to take appropriate action against anyone found to be driving in a manner that places other road users at risk.

Pedestrians who believe that they can get away with walking in the middle of the road in an effort to force oncoming traffic to take avoiding action are not only placing themselves at risk of injury, but should also expect to face prosecution for jay-walking.
