Council to remove ‘extreme graffiti’ in Co Antrim village
The incident has drawn condemnation from community and elected representatives.
In a statement on Ballycarry Community Association’s Facebook page on Sunday, William Thompson, chairman, said: “As most of the village residents already know there was graffiti painted on the road and paths around the village last night. This is extremely disappointing given the current situation we all find ourselves in with Covid-19, and the stress on all families within our community.

“As chairman of the community association I want to send a loud message to those who carried this out, to please think of the damage and upset this has caused to individuals living in our village and to our children.
“Those who did this would be better helping this community in more positive ways especially during these very difficult times.”
Former UUP Councillor, and a native of the village, Mark McKinty said: “ These vile comments have prompted widespread condemnation from village residents and further.”
