Christmas starts at Braid - Nov. 2
Now as much an annual tradition in the borough as carol singing, Ballymena Town Centre will be the first to get the Christmas party season underway by flicking the switch on the Christmas lights next Tuesday, November 2.
Everyone is invited to join the street party outside the Braid from 6pm and countdown to the big switch on at 6.45pm.

“It’s only eight weeks until the Christmas holidays and I’m confident that most homes welcome the opportunity to spread their shopping and celebrations across November and December,” he said.
“Families spend important time together enjoying Christmas shows such as Hansel & Gretel here at the Braid; choirs practice carol singing; children design cards to post early to loved ones overseas and everyone, young and old, is warmed by the Christmas spirit.
“We have a wonderful reputation for great shopping here in Ballymena, matched by a festive welcome so I’m delighted to officially start the Christmas count-down,” said Mayor Mills.
