Hull hat-trick sparks Ballymacash title bid

Ballymacash YM III 5 10TH Old Boys 1

Ballymacash YM III kept pace with Victoria Athletic in the battle for the South Antrim League Division 2 title following this 5-1 win over 10th Old Boys.

Star of the show was Simon ‘Zico’ Hull, who not only hit a hat-trick but scored a stunning goal which lived up to his nickname of Zico.

Hull had already weighed in with the third and fourth goals when he came up trumps with the fifth - a bicycle kick effort into the top corner of the net. Anyone with a camera catch it for the “goal of the Year Award”?

Andrew Jackson had opened the scoring for Ballymacash and Ian Clements added the second as they dominated the first-half.

‘Cash went strangely quiet after the break and 10th Old Boys, to their credit kept battling away before being rewarded with a consolation goal from Daniel Reid.

Man of the Match, need you ask, Simon Hull with a hat-trick and a wonder goal.

Glaston blasted the race for the Premier Division title wide open with a 1-0 win over the leaders, Sandy Row.

The man to grab the winner was the ever-reliable, Jim Mullan.

Curtis Moorhead hit a hat-trick for Taughmonagh YM as they eased past Lambeg Rangers. Other scorers were Barry Bloomer, Jay Nicholson, Robbie Hoy and Justin Masson.

Ballymacash YM were reduced to ten men when Joe Gill was sent off. They were leading 3-0 at the time and that was how it finished against FC Utd Lisburn Johnny Jess and James Thompson 2 got the goals.
