Free debt help charity, Christians Against Poverty (CAP), which operates in the Causeway Coast and Glens area, has issued advice following the Spring Statement made by the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

CAP’s Head of Northern Ireland, Alison Flanagan, said: “The Chancellor said that he wants to help people with rising costs and we are glad that he acknowledged the impact of the cost of living crisis, but he went on to announce very little to help the most vulnerable and to provide for the longer term financial security of those on the lowest incomes.

“We welcome the change to the National Insurance threshold which will ease some of the pressures on low income families. Likewise, the cut in fuel duty will help some at a particularly difficult time for fuel prices, but the other announcements made today will have little to no impact.
